About us

For more than 65 years we have been choosing the right words for you in more than 50 languages. Medium-sized, industrial companies, all manner of service providers as well as public authorities benefit from our made-in-Germany translation services. A quality management system certified in line with ISO 9001:2008 ensures precise project planning and effective project management. Even complex multilingual projects can be processed in a professional manner thanks to modern CAT technologies and preferential use of native speakers. More than 400 in-house translators in 25 locations all over the globe enable on-time deliveries. The internal DTP department for the foreign language typesetting has developed into an advertising agency that gives a suitable form to the content. Together with EnssnerZeitgeist Communications, EnssnerZeitgeist Translations deals with addressing your markets in a targeted fashion – through the use of words and images.

History

Hanns Enssner, a holder of a Dipl.-Ingenieur [Master of Engineering] degree from London, England, founded the Schweinfurt-based translation service in 1946. The proximity to local industry was the reason behind the company's focus on technical and scientific translation, which expanded to include all the main common languages over time. In parallel to the growing demand for Eastern European languages, at the start of the Nineties, the range of services was expanded to include pre-press and foreign language typesetting. The setup of our very own graphics department had thus begun. In 1996, Christian Enssner, a holder of a Dipl.-Wirtschaftsingenieur/FH [Master of Business and Engineering] degree from a university of applied sciences, took over the family-run company. In the hands of the third generation of management, the business fields of multilingual technical documentation and advertising were added to translation services.

In order to better satisfy increased client requirements, the international network was expanded and further strategic partnerships were formed. In 2006, the quality management system was certified in line with ISO 9001:2008. In 2007, we opened a subsidiary with an on-site partner in Chandigarh (situated to the north of Delhi) in India. In the middle of 2010, the advertising division was converted into the newly founded EnssnerZeitgeist Communications GmbH, and the translation division was renamed to form what we now know as EnssnerZeitgeist Translations GmbH.

Quality management

Since 2006, we have been certified in line with ISO 9001:2008 and certified in line with ISO 17100

Our quality management system is not just something on a piece of paper; it is something we live on a day-to-day basis in our daily work. It supports our workflows, ensures effective processing of complex projects and brings about high-quality results. Unnecessary duplication of work is avoided and costs are reduced.

Secrecy

Our employees, translators and strategic partners are contractually obliged to secrecy. On request, we are also happy to provide you with written evidence to this effect. Should you require an additional confidentiality agreement above and beyond this, this is possible at any time.

Strategic partners

The client: In Germany. The manufacturer: In Sweden. The supplier: In France. International projects require global cooperation. Thanks to global alliances, we have set up a far-reaching network of strategic partners who all share the same vision: "Globalization and worldwide networking".

Our daily business would be virtually impossible without our 15 partners. Together with them, we offer proximity to the client and awareness of the target markets.

Tekom e.V.

The Gesellschaft für Technische Kommunikation e.V. (tekom) [Association for Technical Communication] is the German professional association for technical communication and information development. We attend tekom meetings on a regular basis, are represented at trade fairs with our own stand and time and again take to the stand ourselves to hold our own presentations.

Professional / academic degree:

Dipl.-Wirtschaftsingenieur (FH) [holder of a Master in Business and Engineering degree (from a university of applied sciences)]

Tasks:
I look after interests of our business clients. Every client is important to me, be they "large" or "small", because when you listen, you learn every day. I respond to all questions relating to translation and mediate in the case of difficult topics. I leave the daily business to our project management team. I always have an open ear for our project managers and provide support when tricky issues arise.

Particular hobbies:

In a single word – "sport". In the 1980s, I caught the surfing bug, which has shaped my attitude towards life in the long term. Over the last few years, I have discovered endurance sport. I run half-marathons, cycle and have started doing triathlons. Last summer, I crossed the Alps for the second time from Garmisch to Lake Garda ... We'll see how I get on with that in future! In addition to my family, my friends are very important to me, even when time is often against me. I'm very fortunate, and hopefully that's something I will never forget. With my dedication to young business people, I can pass on a little of my "fortune" and actively help shape our society within the plenary meeting of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce and in the rotary.

In everyday business, I have been taking care of our casual clients and the court since 1979. I leave our corporate clients to the project management team and prefer to deal with accounting and the finances. People like calling me "Boss", even if I don't feel like one much. I hope that I will still find my work just as much fun even after doing it for more than 35 years.

Particular hobbies:
I like traveling to South Tyrol or Mallorca for hiking, cycling and shopping, or visiting my sister, who lives in the US. I also like good food and cook for the two men in my life on a daily basis. A positive and honest working environment is extremely important to me. I organize company holidays and excursions so that every now and again we all spend time doing something together, in addition to work.
